Ragweed  (Ambrosia artemisiifolia)

Ragweed is the most common cause of pollen allergies. Its pollen is very light and can travel on the wind for many miles. Ragweed flowers can produce millions of grains of pollen. It blooms in late summer and into fall, until there is a hard frost. Most areas of the USA have one or more species of ragweed, but it is less a problem in dry areas and at high altitude.
